Here is some other news from the rainiest country.
Two weeks ago, at the beginning of August, I was with some other friends in the Grampian Area of Scotland, it was rainy (for the next news, i won't mention it ! It's always raining.)
Anyway, we really enjoyed ourself. First of all, the Glen Shee, a marveleous place describing very well what i was expecting from Scotland. It's a wild deep Glen, a bit mysterious, with fog, rain, sheep, cows and some little cottages. Everything surrounding by a strange absence of noise. If you look up to the mountain, you'll see all those fields coverred by heather, becoming slowly purple with flowers, as the autunm comes. A great experience.
Then Breamar, we slept there on saturday. Rain...
Sunday was unexpetantly sunny, and we discovered, as we woke up, another marveleous place to be. Here, the forest looks like ours in Switzerland (i've allready said that about the forest near Peebles, see older new !). Very similar to the "Alpages" with, instead of mountain, hills and river. The Dee.
... This is the river Dee we went along during this warm and sunny afternoon until the Dunotar Castle. Pines forests and fields makes the Deeside.
6 o'clock in the afternoon, as we approached the Dunotar castle a strange fog came from the North Sea. It seems that if someone above us didn't want us to see it, and it worked. The only thing we were able to see, was just some little pieces of old wall belonging to the ruins of the castle, on the top of a sea cliff. Another mysterious things, but very enjoyable.
I still haven't seen a gost ! Is it a legend ???
As we left the castle, the fog disappered. We were on the way to St. Andrew (where the Prince William study !...) to eat and see what the Capital of Golf like. Nice.
Then, back to Edinburgh
On the 11.08.2002, we went to Perth to see the traditionnal Highland Game. A scotish celebration where people runs, dances, plays bagpipes, throws heavy things as tree tronc, hammer..., pulls rope by team, etc...
Although the rain, it was interestings, and to expensive. |
